Custom Model: TX10 Light Armored Vehicle

I’ve always wondered what an Imperial Humvee would look like. We’ve seen speeders and tanks, but nothing like a light armored vehicle.

So I took a WW2 German Jagdpanzer from a snap model brand called 4D to give the Imps an escort vehicle.

The TX10 RUMBLE

Type: Light armored vehicle (tracked)

Affiliation: Galactic Empire

Manufacturer: Rothana Systems Engineering

Armament: 1 forward laser cannon (standard), 1 top-mounted laser blaster (optional)

Capacity: 1 driver, 1 gunner, 6 passengers (2 inside and 4 outside)

The RUMBLE (Recon and Utility Mobile Escort) is a light armored vehicle used for forward recon, patrol, and convoy escort duties. It was made by Rothana, maker of the TX225 Occupier tank and the AT-TE walker.

The TX10 mounts a forward laser cannon, allowing it to fight armored vehicles in the same class. A cargo bed at the back can carry additional troops or equipment for utility missions.

Like the Occupier tank, it uses tracks instead of repulsors to lower cost and ease maintenance. The treads are protected by an armored skirt just like the Occupier, and the cab is heavily sloped to deflect incoming rounds.

While formidable from the front with its cannon and sloped armor, the RUMBLE is vulnerable from the sides and rear. Its occupants compensate by hanging stormtrooper armor over the top and sides as an additional layer of protection. This gave birth to its other nickname TROUBLE (for Trooper Uparmored Mobile). Rebels simply called it the Bumble, as its drivers tended to panic and crash when ambushed in tight urban alleys.

This was adapted from a 4D 1/72 snap model

The parts are prepainted and snap together like a jigsaw puzzle instead of a traditional model

Before and after

“I told you those were the droids we were looking for.”

“Shut up Gary.”

Where to Buy

This 1/72 scale Jagdpanzer is a snap model kit. It’s available on Amazon as part of a two-vehicle set (I’m in the process of turning the other one into an Imperial vehicle).

Great work, very intuitive use of a WWII model.
