What happens when you turn a WW2 amphib truck upside down? You get a speeder truck
I saw this $3 snap model of a DUKW. While deciding what to do with it, I flipped it over and noticed how the MGS figures fit snugly in the wheel wells. Then I took the transmission and turned it sideways to create a gun mount in the rear axle
Before and after
Rebel Troop Speeder
Type: Personnel carrier (repulsorlift)
Affiliation: Rebel Alliance
Manufacturer: Mobquet Swoops and Speeders
Armament: 1 bed-mounted laser cannon
Capacity: 1 driver, 1 gunner, 8 passengers
“Would you look at that. What a piece of junk!”
“Shut up Gary.”
The Rebel Troop Speeder is the Alliance’s poor man’s version of the Imperial Troop Transport. It was adapted from the cargo speeder trucks produced by Mobquet.
The Rebels stripped down the cab, chassis and cargo bed to make the transport faster and lighter. Troop carriers mounted a light blaster in the cargo bed, while the cargo version had a covered bed for ferrying supplies and ammunition.
The speeder comes in cargo carrier and troop transport versions.
They may not look like much, but they have it where it counts: courage
