One notable change is the look of the E-wing fighter. Instead of using the EU version with its tri-cannon setup, the MGS ship uses the new one from Disney.
This is because it uses the same mold as the new E-wing from the Ahsoka TV series. Hence we’re seeing a repeat of the MGS A-wing situation, where the new Resistance RZ-2 A-wing is also used for the older Rebellion-era RZ-1.
This means the old Action Fleet E-wing remains the only one of its kind. While the new E-wing is available in 3.75″ (Hasbro), 1:72 (MGS) and brick versions (Lego), the original E-wing exists only in Micro Machines Action Fleet version.
The MGS E-wing also seems to be a clean, brand new fighter compared to the “used” look of the AF one.
The Micro Galaxy Squadron E-wing escort fighter is part of Series 6 Light Armor Class. It was first teased during the Star Wars Celebration in London in April 2023, and will finally be released in the coming months.
