It’s the 3rd day of Comic-Con 2024, and Jazwares has officially unveiled two new ships for the Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron line.

During the 1-hour Jazwares panel on Saturday, Jazwares Chief Brand Officer Jeremy Padawer and MGS Designer Gihoon Song revealed the following new vehicles:

Analysis

While both ships are not exactly new, having been revealed during Star Wars Celebration 2023, this is the first time Jazwares has confirmed their release. Both were originally planned to be part of Wave 5’s Starfighter-class, but have since been pushed back along with the Bespin Cloud Car.

With the launch of the Vault, Jazwares seem to be capitalizing on the its own distribution channel with a new strategy: Instead of being a channel for rares and chases, the Vault will be the launching pad for some new MGS vehicles before they go to retail.

On the one hand, this resolves the common complaint about distribution being unreliable. On the other hand, the Vault is currently limited to US customers, and the limited release quantities can only drive up prices and spur more complaints.

This year’s panel was also somewhat lackluster for the MGS line. While other Jazwares IPs such as AEW had plenty of reveals, the MGS spotlight merely rehashed the Series 6 lineup along with the two ships. There were also no elaborate displays for the MGS line, compared to last year’s massive Hoth diorama that served to launch the AT-AT and Imperial Shuttle.

However, note that Jazwares still has Series 7 under wraps, and more will be revealed in the future once our source gives the go-ahead.

Article will be updated with official press images when they became available.

Quite underwhelming launch this year unlike the previous years. I’ll definitely snap up both new ships though the second they hit the vault

No Cloud Car is a bummer. And no word at all of the AT-DP walker that we were shown a silhouette of waaaay back.

Well that was a letdown. Surprised there was no mention of the T6
